Small Business Award Presented with Sen. Martwick to Lake Effect Brewing

Today, Rep. LaPointe partnered with Senator Robert Martwick to present the next Small Business Recognition Award to Lake Effect Brewing Company. Many community members nominated this business through an online form not only for their amazing local brews, but because of their commitment to community involvement and partnership with other local businesses.

During the early months of the pandemic, the State green-lighted a temporary plan for residential deliveries from craft brewers. This is something that owner, Clint Bautz, had wanted to do for a while, so he recognized the opportunity to help other local businesses while being able to make his own deliveries. Just recently, Lake Effect partnered with Fannie’s Cafe to pair their pies with the Brewery’s six-packs and deliver them to local residents. Not only was this a boost for Fannie’s, but Lake Effect has been able to keep all of their staff throughout the pandemic.

Their outreach didn’t stop there, as Lake Effect has also collaborated with Gene’s Sausage Shop, Weston’s Coffee, Tone Deaf Records, Superdawg, Fearless Cooking, Taste of Columbia Coffee, and Chicago Sip and Paint by pairing their brews with products from those shops. This community engagement and collaboration benefits everyone and makes Lake Effect Brewing Company the perfect candidate for this recognition.
