Rep. LaPointe and Treasurer Frerichs Return Over $19K to Nonprofit Through I-CASH

Today, State Rep. Lindsey LaPointe joined Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs to announce the return of $19,278 to the Geographic Society of Chicago through I-CASH, Illinois’ unclaimed property program. The Representative and Treasurer were proud to carry out the wishes of the late Hazel Gaunt, a constituent who left part of her estate to the nonprofit, and return money to the Geographic Society of Chicago where it belongs. This money will assist with virtual learning as the organization continues to adjust to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are $2 million in unclaimed funds in the 19th House District alone, and Rep. LaPointe will continue to work with Treasurer Michael Frerichs to return this money to constituents.
